What is the Parent Participation Project?

The Parent Participation Project, otherwise known as ppp is a three-year project funded by the DCSF, through the Children, Young People and Families Grant Programme. Its aim is to enhance the involvement of parents and carers in the commissioning of local services for children and young people with disabilities and their families in four local authority areas across England. The project will focus on strengthening the parent and carer voice through effective and inclusive representation. Part of fulfilling this aim is to make sure that under-represented communities, such as fathers, parents and carers from economically deprived areas and from black and minority ethnic communities, are given the opportunity to get involved in parent forums and networks and to have their opinions represented.
